Application Process

Applications for the 2026 Graduate Program open 2 March and close 9 April 2026. 

Assessment activities and timeline
The stages of the assessment process, include:

  • applications open (2 March 2026)
  • applications close (9 April 2026)
  • skills assessment (April 2026)
  • assessment center (May 2026)
  • availability and security checks (July 2026)
  • formal offers (October 2026)
  • program commences (early February 2027)

Be prepared. You'll need to perform strongly in each assessment to progress to the next stage, including application, online activities and interview.

You'll receive notification of the outcome of each stage, even if you are not successful.

Application Tips:

  • Do your research! You may wish to know more about the ATO and the Graduate Program
  • Have your personal information, qualification details and academic transcript ready when you start your application.
  • Save your application regularly to ensure you don't lose any data.
  • Use the STAR method to write your application and answer interview questions. STAR helps you describe the Situation, Task, Action and Result in each answer.
  • Practice answering interview questions.
