About the role - you will:
- Understand the manufacturing processes, technologies, techniques, and products involved in precision hard disk substrate production.
- Define, implement, and evaluate designs and processes to ensure manufacturability.
- Collaborate with engineering stakeholders to identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process.
- Actively participate in daily engineering activities, employing effective problem-solving skills to address ongoing issues.
- Establish robust, repeatable, and reproducible process parameters, taking ownership of process control methodologies.
- Troubleshoot process-related issues as they arise.
- Engage in initiatives focused on cycle time reduction and overall process improvements.
- Evaluate and select engineered materials and conduct statistical process research on both new and existing products.
- Promote safety, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive the development of manufacturing techniques to enhance in-house capabilities.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive process documentation and review processing methods regularly.
- Interface with production teams to facilitate the implementation and transfer of new processes.
- Assist in training development and provide training to production personnel during technology transfers.
- Support equipment maintenance and repairs as necessary.
- Guide cost improvement and reduction programs.
Required Skills and Abilities
About you:
- Deep understanding of process engineering principles and methodologies relevant to the manufacturing industry.
- Excellent analytical skill in statistical analysis (SPC) and experience with data analysis tools and software.
- Ability to perform thorough root cause analyses to identify and address issues in manufacturing processes.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including production, equipment engineering, quality assurance, and Failure Analysis.
- Ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders and provide training to production staff.
- A mindset geared toward innovation, with a willingness to explore and implement new technologies and processes.
- Meticulous approach to process documentation, quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Willingness to adapt to new challenges, changes in technology, and evolving business needs.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and promoting safety protocols among team members.
Your experience includes:
- At least 1 year of working experience in process engineering, with experience in the hard disk substrate industry considered an advantage.
- Optimizing processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead and manage projects, ensuring timely and successful implementation of new processes or equipment qualification.
- Application of effective communication and interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and excellent project management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical or Mechatronic.
- Fresh graduates/entry level applicants are encouraged to apply.
