The role:

We’re looking for a talented and driven penultimate or final-year university student to join our AI team as an AI Associate. This is a unique opportunity to apply cutting-edge AI and machine learning techniques to real-world problems in asset management. You’ll work alongside fund managers and technologists to design, build, and deploy AI tools from the ground up, including internal GPTs and intelligent applications that enhance investment decision-making.

You will be responsible for:

• Help design and develop AI-powered applications and tools from scratch;
• Build and fine-tune internal GPTs and chat-based tools for research and automation;
• Support the development of machine learning models for predictive analytics and portfolio insights;
• Contribute to the design and implementation of agentic AI systems that autonomously perform tasks such as data analysis, report generation and investment research;
• Write clean, efficient Python code for data processing, model training, and application logic;
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions; and
• Stay up to date with AI/ML trends and contribute ideas for innovation.

Required skills and experience:

• Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and Hugging Face;
• Exposure to machine learning concepts and hands-on experience through coursework or projects;
• Interest in LLMs, prompt engineering, and building chat-based AI tools;
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain and how to build multi-step reasoning agents;
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently or in a team setting;
• Self-starter with a high level of motivation and curiosity; and
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred qualifications:

• Penultimate or Final-year student in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field;
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) or Git-based workflows;
• Interest in investing or financial markets;
• Familiarity with financial concepts or a strong interest in investment technology; and
• Knowledge of NLP, time-series analysis, or generative AI is a plus.
