Huntly Primary School has been an integral part of the Huntly community for over 150 years. The current school was built in 2000. Huntly Primary School currently has an enrolment of 330 students. The student population is expected to grow over the next few years due to the significant increase in housing construction within a radius of 5 kilometres of the school.
The school leadership consists of the Principal, Assistant Principal, Learning Specialist, Wellbeing and Curriculum coordinators. The leadership team provides the overall school coordination and strategic planning.
The school demonstrates a commitment to the development of Literacy and Numeracy skills within the Victorian Curriculum as well as a broad exposure to a range of learning areas. Students participate in specialist programs that includes, Visual and Performing Arts, Physical Education and LOTE (Chinese). Students are provided with the opportunity to participate in a camp¿s program, a range of sporting and cultural activities and biannual musical production.
We have a strong wellbeing focus and our policies and procedures reflect the School Wide Positive Behaviour Support framework. The school employs wellbeing staff 3 days per week to work with students and families.
SC1 Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the capacity to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. Demonstrated capacity to respond to student learning needs.
SC2 Demonstrated capacity to implement high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.

SC4 Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support student learning, wellbeing and engagement.
SC5 Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values. Demonstrated capacity to reflect upon practice and engage in professional learning to continually improve the quality of teaching.
