CareerDC Internships charges a fee for coordinating each internship program. You will get a tailored resume, interview training, unlimited interviews, access to our network of host companies, an internship placement relevant to your studies, an accredited WIL course (where applicable) and support during your internship.

The Electrical Engineering Internship Program gives you practical work experience and  connects you with industry professionals whilst also granting you academic credit.

Why Choose This 12-Week Internship Program?

  • You’ll Get to Work on Real Engineering Projects

It’s an opportunity to be involved in hands-on engineering tasks such as electrical design, system simulations, and engineering analysis using tools like Raspberry Pi and Python (exact tasks and experiences depend on your host company).

  • You’ll Develop Important Professional Skills

During the internship program, you’ll develop your problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills while collaborating with experienced professionals on a range of practical engineering projects.

  • You’ll Increase Your Industry Knowledge

During the twelve weeks you’ll gain great insights into fields like IoT, power systems, and EV charging technologies (depending on your host company) while learning how electrical engineering concepts are applied in practical settings.

Who Can Apply for This Internship Program?

  • Current University Students in Australia

If you’re an international or local student studying in an Australian university and want to meet your degree requirements, gain academic credit, and get hands-on work experience relevant to their studies, this program is suitable for you.

  • Recent Graduates and Students Who Don’t Have an Internship Requirement

If you’re a new graduate in need of work experience or a student whose degree doesn't have an internship component, you can apply too and combine your work experience placement with an accredited Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program to gain industry experience.

The 12-week internship placement will be coordinated to match your preferences, including the start date, location, and total length of placement. Example host companies include:

  • A global company specialising in intelligent building solutions and sustainable environments.
  • A telecommunications company that builds and maintains mobile networks.
  • An industry leader in EV charging technologies and electric vehicle infrastructure.

What You’ll Do During Your Work Experience Placement

Depending on your host company, your internship tasks may include:

  • Assisting with calculations, technical drawings, and cost estimation for projects.
  • Coordinating with network operators and contractors to support project execution.
  • Developing and documenting standard procedures for electrical design.
