ASX Tech Graduate Program – Technology

From identifying cyber security risks to working on major technology upgrade projects, you can gain exposure to a range of areas including computer science, data analytics, software development, programming, project management, cyber security, system analysis and design.

At ASX you will learn about the complex and dynamic operations of the market, understand how data shapes our business and contribute to leading-edge innovation to help shape the future of Australia's financial markets. 

You will receive a structured development program seeing you through your induction to your professional skills building to future leader status.  Expect multiple rotations designed to give you diverse, foundational knowledge, before settling into a final placement.  Access a dynamic, hybrid working environment, and a strong community - where you matter.

All backgrounds with a strong commercial or analytical  focus will be considered including (but not limited to):

Additional qualification or education in Financial Markets is a bonus! 

Examples of what you will do: 

  • Engineer for excellence: Design, develop and maintain robust automation frameworks (e.g. Selenium), conduct exploratory, performance and load testing, and implement continuous integration and testing pipelines to ensure product quality, scalability and resilience.
  • Collaborate across disciplines: Partner with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and shape effective test strategies. Leverage AI tools to auto-generate test cases and detect anomalies, enhancing coverage, speed and efficiency.
  • Build for high-stakes environment: Work on highly complex, low-latency trading systems that operate with zero downtime tolerance; critical to the integrity of electronic financial markets.
  • Innovate in the cloud: Provision workloads in public cloud environments using cutting-edge Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD methodologies. Build solutions with EC2, Docker containers, serverless compute (Lamba) and scalable storage (Aurora)
  • Develop modern applications: Gain hands-on experience designing, building and testing Java applications, microservices/APIs and real-time data streaming capabilities
  • Lead from the ground up: Get involved in technical operations including planning, communications and execution, building your skills in delivery and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support service management and data engineering: Contribute to service management reporting and data engineering initiatives, helping to build and maintain data pipelines and dashboards that support operational insights and decision-making.
  • Explore cyber security and analytics: Assist with cyber analytics, threat monitoring, vulnerability management and SOC operations, gaining exposure to the tools and technical that protect critical infrastructure and data.
  • Grow with great people: Work alongside supportive and talented leaders who will coach, mentor and help you build strong professional networks.

You'll also take part in an 8-week group project to solve a real business challenge, working alongside fellow graduates.

Before applying for the program, please ensure you meet our eligibility requirements: 

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident
  • Have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the last three years prior to the program start date of February 2026 (2023, 2024 or 2025)
  • Be available and eligible to commence the role in our Sydney head office in March 2026
